Metacritic has revealed its 15th annual game publisher rankings, and its first-ever three-time winner is at the top of the list. At the top of the list is Sega, on the back of a strong performance by the JRPG Metaphor: ReFantazio,

In the top 10 for 2024, Microsoft is ninth on this ladder with Astro Bot publisher Sony in fourth spot. Taking out first is SEGA (jumping from ninth place) with games like Metaphor: ReFantazio, and dethroning Capcom who recently released Monster Hunter Wilds.

By this metric, Capcom still managed a very impressive #2 ranking, barely edged out by SEGA; still deserving of its Capgod status. Interestingly, Aksys Games secured the #3 spot, with its highest scoring game being Spirit Hunter: Death Mark II at 83.
