BMW has introduced a facelift for its iX electric SUV with updates to power, range, and design. The new model will be available globally in spring 2025, with production starting in March at the Dingolfing plant in Germany.

BMW has unveiled the 2026 iX, the upgraded version of its electric SUV. The revamped model, which has been in production for four years, now comes with a more affordable variant for the US market. Previously exclusive to Europe as the base xDrive40, the cost-effective trim has been rebranded as the xDrive45 for American consumers.

BMW iX will be offered in three new variants offering up to 650 bhp of power and over 1,000 Nm of peak torque.

On top of reducing the price more than $10,000, BMW redesigned the iX's beak and reworked the drivetrain to eke out roughly 15 extra miles per charge.

Changes inside the iX include the latest iDrive 8.5 infotainment software and new trims such as a synthetic leather-look in the M Sport package. Available features include a panoramic glass roof, either Harman Kardon or Bowers & Wilkins sound systems and soft-close doors.
