Chelsea checked off their first piece of silverware in their ongoing pursuit of a quadruple under new manager Sonia Bompastor following their 2-1 win against Manchester City in the Subway Cup final on Saturday.

Chelsea defeated Manchester City to win the Women’s League Cup and secure a first trophy under Sonia Bompastor as Yui Hasegawa’s own goal settled an entertaining final at Pride Park. Mayra Ramirez bundled in the opening goal for the Blues after just seven minutes but Nick Cushing’s City were the better side up until half time in terms of possession and chances.
