Sony Will Stop Offering Free PS4 Games Through PS Plus Starting 2026
Sony has announced that PlayStation Plus subscribers will stop getting free monthly PS4 games starting in 2026, as the company shifts focus to PS5 owners. However, Sony acknowledges that subscribers may still occasionally receive PS4 games through PS Plus Monthly Games and Game Catalog after the change.

Sony announced, “As we shift to PS5, PS4 games will no longer be a key benefit and will only be occasionally offered for PlayStation Plus Monthly Games and Game Catalog.”
Soon PS4 games will not be offered monthly on PlayStation Plus
Most PlayStation Plus subscribers use the service to access PlayStation 5 games. With that being said, Sony is deciding to cease offering PS4 games starting 2026.

All the way back in 2021, a prolific modder and researcher of FromSoftware games, named Lance McDonald, released his magnum opus: a 60 fps mod for Bloodborne. Now, almost four years later, Sony has made the unfortunate decision to issue a DMCA takedown forcing McDonald to stop publicly providing access to the patch files.
