The New York Mets once again set a new payroll record, spending $333.3 million during the 2024 season, according to recently finalized figures from MLB obtained by the AP.

The Mets’ $1.36 billion in spending from 2021 to 2024 outpaced what the Marlins, Pirates and Rays spent on payroll from 2004 to 2024.

The Mets led the major leagues in spending for the third straight season in 2024 as total MLB spending, based on regular payrolls, rose 1.8% to $5.158 billion.
