TAVR is a transcatheter aortic valve repair. The stenotic aortic valve is repaired by placing a prosthetic valve within the diseased valve. TAVR is for patients who have a high risk for an open procedure. The procedural success rate is 90%.

2022年8月31日 · The transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is a minimally invasive procedure that deploys an expandable replacement valve to treat aortic stenosis (AS). TAVR has emerged as a viable option for patients with aortic stenosis who were considered to be inoperable, as it provides symptomatic improvement and a mortality benefit 1,2 .

Since 2002, TAVR has been validated as a suitable alternative to surgical aortic valve replacement in selected patients with severe aortic stenosis considered non-operable or intermediate- high risk for surgical repair (2,3).

To facilitate the radiographic identification of prosthetic heart valves, radiographic silhouettes of various aortic, mitral and tricuspid valve prostheses were analyzed and shematized.
