Covering 3,250 acres on Southampton Water, Fawley Refinery and Chemical Manufacturing Plant is the largest in the UK, and one of the most complex in Europe. The first refinery on the site was developed by the Atlantic Gulf and West Indies Petroleum Company (AGWI) in 1921.
