The Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan (RISDP) is a comprehensive development and implementation framework guiding the Regional Integration agenda of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) over a period of fifteen years (2005-2020).

The SADC Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan (RISDP 2020-2030) and SADC Vision 2050 are two strategic plans which seek to further deepen Southern Africa regional integration and foster development. The two strategic plans were approved by the 40th Ordinary SADC Summit in Maputo, Mozambique in 2020.

The purpose of the Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan is to deepen regional integration in SADC. It provides SADC Member States with a consistent and comprehensive programme of long-term economic and social policies.

The challenges facing the Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan (RISDP) and the Strategic Indicative Plan for the Organ (SIPO) have to be seen against the background of a region that has gained a lot of experience in promoting regional co-operation and integration.
