Doctor Who, a successful British science-fiction series that has been running since 1963, explores concepts and stories spanning a range of worlds and eras both fictional and historical, through the medium of time-travel. A number of stories, both televised and in spin-off media, carry a distinctly steampunk flavor.

2014年7月10日 · Steampunk Sourcebook: Doctor Who. If you are a Sci-Fi fan then you must have heard of Doctor Who. But just in case you haven’t, the Doctor is an altruistic alien who can go anywhere in time and space, but seems to have an affinity for jolly old England all the same 🙂

Steampunk is a combination of fantastical super-science with anachronistic elements. It could be said that Steampunk is a subcultural equivalent of Doctor Who. The science, the adventure, the historical, the weirdness and the fantastic, all elements of both, the Steampunk genre and Doctor Who. But what exactly is Steampunk? What’s it’s origin?

In this episode, the Doctor and his companions Rose Tyler and Mickey Smith find time windows on a 51st-century spaceship leading to 18th-century France and a group of clockwork androids using them to stalk Madame de Pompadour throughout her life

The Steampunk Conundrum was the second story of Doctor Who: The Road to the Thirteenth Doctor, published in 2018. to be added. The Doctor refers to San Francisco as "the Paris of the west". The Doctor mentions that Alice's new dress makes her resemble a Dalek. The Doctor wears a bowler hat, which he claims are "cool".

Doctor Who as the perfect example of how steampunk elements are being infused into the science fiction genre to make it fresh and exciting instead of relying heavily on the ridiculous rules and constraints of steampunk, or even calling it steampunk for that matter.

The Steampunk Doctor is a more stern and focused version of The Proper Bonkers Doctor, who often keeps both him and The Moustache Doctor in check. He's the brains of this operation, but also the most rude and foul-mouthed- often swearing his catchphrase "Bloody Hell!"

I sometimes wonder if DW is inspired by the sci-fi sub-genre of Steampunk. Some of the Doctor's fashion choices imply this to me - the 12th, for example. we all know DW has an aesthetic that is specific to Doctor Who, but even the Tardis seems at least a few degrees away from Steampunk.
