2017年12月15日 · i built a 26" tall vac chamber using 10" diameter schedule 40 pvc pipe. i trued and squared the bottom of the pipe and then sealed the bottom with 2 layers of1/4" pvc sheet adhered with pvc cement followed by Lexel clear sealant. the lid is acrylic and the chamber has about 20 hours on it under vacuum and i have noticed tiny hairline cracks in the lid.

2014年2月13日 · There is more that goes into building a vacuum chamber that is capable of deep vacuum than most folks realize! As for materials to use...if you are going to try to do an acrylic chamber, make sure you use acrylic. Polycarbonate will not work well with Cactus Juice or similar copycat resins. It is likely to turn a milk jug white color.

2021年4月28日 · The thing I like about the 3 gallon stainless size is that I can put multiple small containers in it with different colors of juice and pull vacuum on easily 2 dozen blanks in 6 different colors at the same time. It will also hold an ice cream bucket for about 15 blanks or allow you to do a bunch straight in the pot.

2012年12月21日 · I want to try my hand at stabilizing some punky and void filled Maple and Buckeye Burl pieces for pen blanks. I watched MesquiteMan's excellent video on stabilizing and decided to make a vacuum chamber box. I was lucky to find some 1/2" polycarbonate cut offs at my local plastics supplier for about $12 and made the box below.

2009年8月7日 · I found an article online where someone built a pressure chamber for vacuum infusing/stabilizing wood. It was made out of PVC and I've essentially done the same thing before building a potatoe gun. I've filled it to over 100 PSI, so I know it can handle the pressure, but it's also enclosed and sealed with the pvc glue.

2020年8月24日 · Well ride comes before a fall, so despite my earlier comments on the forum about polycarbonate being immune to stickfast resin and not crazing under vacuum , tonight having left it overnight at -29 on high pressure. vacuum the damn lid shows minor crazing on the underside, estimate cracks are 2mm deep on a 12 mm thick lid.

Most of the information I could find shows that a vacuum kiln usually only pulls a 124,973 (25" Hg) to 74,171 (27" Hg) micron vacuum. At 124,973 microns, water needs to be around 130° F to boil.
