Ballantine's is a brand of blended Scotch whisky produced by the Chivas Brothers subsidiary of Pernod Ricard in Dumbarton, Scotland. The Ballantine's flavour is dependent on fingerprint malts [ 1 ] [ 2 ] from Miltonduff and Glenburgie, [ 3 ] blended with 50 single malts and four single grains.

5 天之前 · Ballantine’s puts the “blended” into blended scotch, combining both malt and grain whiskeys made at a handful of different distilleries. Everything that goes into a bottle of Ballantine’s has been aged for at least three years, and the whiskey is bottled at 40% alcohol.

Ballantine’s 17 is a creamy and sweet blend with light hints of smoke. Lowering it to a 40% ABV makes it smoother, easier to drink. Keeping the 43% would have make it stronger and with more character (and I’ve probably would have liked it more).
