Dynasty Warriors 9 is as long as the landscape is broad. Which is, in some ways, part of the problem. There's plenty to do, but you'll be wandering around China forever to find it all. Warriors Orochi 4 is the staple formula of Musou games before 9, where you get an objective, and are expected to be done in as short a time as possible.

You hold down R1/RB to gain access to those special attacks, now called Trigger Attacks, so you can launch/knockdown/stun enemies whenever you want.

Also 9 empires looks shockingly repetitive even by this franchises standards, the maps are just cut off areas from the barren map of the base dynasty warriors 9 open world. 7 empires had great depth, nice scenarios, played well...it was great!
