Today, Groundhog Day remains what it was when the tradition first came to our shores and found its way to Punxsutawney. A day to take everything a little less seriously, and break up the winter monotony… at least for a little while!

After the Proclamation, Phil stays on at the Stump for those who want their picture taken with Phil. What hours is the Knob open February 1 and February 2? The Knob closes to the public at 4:00 pm February 1 and reopens at 3:30 am February 2 for buses and visitors and volunteers.

The Punxsutawney Groundhog Club Inner Circle is comprised of 15 members whose task it is to protect and perpetuate the legend of the great weather-predicting groundhog Punxsutawney Phil.
