But since the question here is about using Dell's 130W USB-C charger with a recent Dell XPS 15 system, that wouldn't apply.

Its fine with charging when the XPX 15 is offline. Any experience or links? I could not find a USB-C charger on the Dell-site which support the 7590. Thanks and best regards!

2020年2月22日 · I have a 90W USB-C power adapter that goes 20V/4.5A and I use a USB-IF certified USB-C gen 2 (10gbs/5A/100W), and when I connect it through the thunderbolt port on my Dell XPS 15 7590, a warning that tells that the charger is slow appears. Also, on the BIOS, it only recognize my charger as a 65W charger.

2022年4月3日 · I have a Dell xps 15 7590 core i7 (2019 model) and the battery is not charging. Replaced with new dell battery, new charger unit and even the charging port but still no charge. Laptop turns on under battery power but just consumes power and won't let me even try a bios update due to power constraints of 50%+.

2020年1月1日 · I don't have a 7590 myself, but I don't see why it would behave differently. Dell created its 130W USB-C adapter specifically for the XPS 15 9575 2-in-1, and systems going as far back as the XPS 15 9550 have supported 130W charging over USB-C when connected to certain Dell docking stations.

2024年8月31日 · Only the Thunderbolt port accepts power -- the two USB-C ports do not. And since this system needs a 130W power adapter (where a non-Dell USB-C charger will deliver 65W max) if it does work, it'll be slow going charging and the system will not run at full speed.

2023年10月3日 · Sometimes, the usages of unsupported chargers may have been the cause. Test your XPS 7590 with the original charger. It should be a 130w barrel type. If the issue is persisted, consider to replace the battery.

2022年11月2日 · Can someone please tell me a brand or a place that i can buy a charger that's under 100w that will work on an airplane and is compatible with the dell XPS 15 7590. Dell seems to only sell a 130w charger that's compatible with the XPS 15 7590 and amazon didn't seem to have any that were compatible with this module. Any information helps. Thanks
