A state of emergency was declared in San Bernardino County on Sunday, September 8, as crews battled a wildfire that had grown to more than 20,000 acres in size. According to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire), multiple evacuation orders were in place as the Line Fire reached 20,552 acres. More than 1,800 personnel were battling the wildfire, which was 3% contained as of Monday morning. Since the 1970s, the annual average wildfire season in the Western U.S. is 10
